Meet Midway Monday: Bruce Pickering, Parts Manager

It’s #MeetMidwayMonday! Today, we want to introduce you to Bruce Pickering, Parts Manager at Midway GM on South 2nd Avenue in Kearney.

Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? What do you do?

Bruce: On April 18th, I will have been with Midway for 4 years. When first I started here, I was hired as a Quick Lube Technician. I spent a year as a Lube Tech when a position in the Parts Department for a Inventory/Receiving Associate opened. I got the job then was later moved into Parts Advisor role where I worked with the Technicians looking up the parts they needed to get the jobs done. During this time, I also worked on the front counter selling accessories for new and used vehicles. I then was promoted to Assistant Parts Manager for about 6 months before recently being promoted to Parts Manager.

Question 2: What fuels your day?

Bruce: The thrill of never knowing what the day is going to hold – whether its going to be non-stop busy or slower so you have time to actually catch your breath.

Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?

Bruce: Well I’m a car guy, I like them all! But if i have to pick, I would have to say the 2017 Chevy Camaro SS in Krypton Green.

Bruce PickeringQuestion 4: What do you do in your free time?

Bruce: I like to take my classic ’78 Malibu to car shows or just go for a drive. I also like to tinker with my vehicles detailing them keeping them looking good. I enjoy going fishing, and camping with family.

Question 5: What makes Midway GM a great place to get your service work done?

Bruce: The great team we have a Midway is fast, friendly, and courteous – and of course, the great new remodel!

Question 6: What accessory do you think sets a vehicle apart from others?

Bruce: My favorite accessory is the lighted bowtie for the new 2017 Silverado. Also, I’ve always thought that a good set of rims will set off any vehicle.

Question 7: What is something most people don’t know about you?

Bruce: I was born with cataracts and had implants put in my eyes when I was 30, but haven’t let it slow me down. Also, I’ve always wanted to work at a dealership.
