Enjoy the Outdoor Life: Take Part in the Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo May 7

Every year, Fort Kearny State Recreation Area holds an expo bursting with activity: fishing, kayaking, archery, and shooting sports are just a few of the hands-on sports you can enjoy. On May 7, the Expo will celebrate its 10th anniversary, so even more activities are planned than usual.

Get in early for the 9-10 a.m. pancake breakfast, and stay for the 11 a.m. -1 p.m. hotdog roast. In between, explore presentations on outdoor cooking, antler scoring and falconry. Kids will enjoy the lumberjack show and live history demonstration with cannon shooting and 1900’s era games and crafts. Event sponsor Cabela’s will be giving away a kayak and bow package. Catch a specially tagged fish stocked just for the event and win prizes.
