Cruise Nite Back for its 29th Year

The Annual Cruise Nite celebrations presented by the Central Nebraska Auto Club will be back in Kearney beginning Wednesday, July 13 and running through Sunday, July 17.

The event began in 1987 with a car show followed by a dance. Volunteers gradually added more events which has lead to the five day festival we celebrate today.

Thursday, July 14, Midway Auto Outlet will be hosting a Kick-Off Show & Shine from 5:00-7:30 with oldies music, food and drinks available.We invite you to bring your car down or just stop by to enjoy the celebration.

In 2015, Midway had a record turnout with over 100 cars on display. No registration is needed, but all cars that would like to participate should show up at 4:00pm.

The funds generated from sponsorships and entry fees go towards helping plan the following years Cruise Nite and the rest is given to local non-profits and charities such as the United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Make A Wish and more. Last year over $8,500 was donated to local area chapters. There was also support given in the way of scholarships for students going into auto mechanics or auto body repair.
