The 2019 RAM 1500 and the 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 are at the top of truck buyers’ lists, both offering V8 options, luxurious cabin appointments, and more, but at the end of the day, the RAM wins out.
- Performance: With a 3.6L DOHC V6 hybrid engine that gets 305 horsepower, the RAM 1500 sets a benchmark in its segment. Plus, Grand Island drivers can upgrade to a 5.7L V8 with 395 horsepower. The GMC Sierra 1500, on the other hand, offers a 4.3L V6 engine with 285 horsepower. Hastings drivers can upgrade the Sierra to a 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower, however the GMC Sierra can’t put up a fight against the RAM 1500.
- Technology: Keyless Go, Adaptive Cruise Control and heated exterior mirrors are all standard on the new RAM 1500. Plus, with Uconnect technology, you’ll get SiriusXM Radio, high-tech safety features, and smartphone connectivity.
- Towing Capacity: The base RAM 1500 alone can tow 6,280 lbs. The GMC Sierra only gets 5,500 lbs. If Holdrege drivers upgrade to the standard bed quad cab, the RAM 1500 will tow up to 12,750 pounds.
