On November 21, 2014 the Killion family sold their GMC Franchise, dealership operations and collision center to Brian and Carey Hamilton, owners of the Midway Auto Dealerships. Both families are long time Nebraska new car dealers, with deep roots in central Nebraska making this purchase a natural fit.

Dwayne Killion started in the car business in 1973 working at Strong Pontiac Olds GMC as a sales manager. In 1979, Dwayne purchased the dealership and opened Killion Motors. Dwayne’s sons Galen, Loren and Laverne have worked there since their father opened the store. Galen was the office manager, Loren was the sales manager and Laverne managed the service and parts departments. The Killion family has spent the last 35 years serving Central Nebraska and building long standing quality relationships.

Brian and Carey Hamilton, both University of Nebraska grads, have been in the automotive industry since childhood. After graduating college, they spent many years working in the automotive industry and started a family. Then, Brian and Carey opened their own new car dealership in 1982 with Hamilton Chevrolet Cadillac BMW in Grand Island, Nebraska. It was very exciting to be living and building a business in Central Nebraska, as the Hamilton’s have deep roots here. Kearney is where Carey’s mother grew up and Oxford is where Carey’s father opened his first dealership. After five years of successful operations in Grand Island, Brian and Carey purchased the Chevrolet and Mazda Franchises in Kearney, Nebraska. Kearney had been without a Chevrolet dealership for about two years when the Hamilton’s opened Midway Chevrolet Mazda in 1987.

In 1999 the Hamilton’s had the opportunity to purchase the Cadillac and Buick franchises and were able to move them into their Chevrolet dealership on Second Avenue. Then in 2004 Brian and Carey purchased Spady Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Kearney, Nebraska. Giving them two new car dealerships in Kearney.

Carey (Beardmore) Hamilton is the fourth generation of the Beardmore family to own and operate new car dealerships along with her husband, Brian Hamilton. The Beardmore family opened their first dealership in 1919. Carey’s father, Moe Beardmore, opened a dealership in Oxford Nerbaska in 1954. He then opened the first Beardmore Chevrolet in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1971. In 1992 Moe Beardmore passed away, so in 1995, Brian and Carey returned to Omaha to purchase and operate Beardmore Chevrolet. Shortly after returning to Omaha they added the Subaru franchise to their Bellevue location.

Brian currently represents Nebraska’s franchised new-car dealers on the board of directors of the National Automobile Dealers Association. Their family’s longevity and success in a very competitive industry is a result of their commitment to treating those they interact with as guests in their home.

The Hamilton’s take a great deal of pride in serving the community. Carey and Brian have always placed a high priority on corporate responsibility to the community and you can tell our dealership family is woven into the very fabric of the community we serve. At the heart of our dealerships are dozens of quality people making it all work for our guests.
