    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway?
    Darrin: I’ve worked at Midway for a total of 14 years. I have sold new and used cars at Midway GM and Midway Chrysler before becoming a Sales Manager. I’ve been the Sales Manager at Midway Auto Outlet since its opening in May 2015.

    Question 2: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Darrin: Stock #D1203A – a 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ with a lift.

    Question 3: What do you do in your free time?
    Darrin: In my free time, I like to golf, go boating, ride 4-wheelers and vacation with family.

    Question 4: What do you drive?
    Darrin: 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT

    Question 5: What do you like best about working at Midway?
    Darrin: I like helping customers who I’ve become friends with over the years find the right vehicle. Hassle-free pricing is nice because everyone who comes in knows that all of our customers pay the same price. It takes the stress out of the car deal for the customer and the Product Specialist.

    Question 6: What makes Midway different from other dealerships in the area?
    Darrin: Midway is different because we are a one stop shop where you can buy or lease a vehicle and get all your service work done. We also have a collision center and loaner vehicles for our customers to use while their car is being worked on.

    Question 7: What is something most people don’t know about you?
    Darrin: I spent 14 months after Hurricane Katrina between New Orleans and Biloxi Mississippi selling products, like generators, to help out the people who’d been hit hardest.

    It’s #MeetMidwayMonday! Today, we want to introduce you to Dave Clark, Finance Manger at Midway Auto Dealerships.

    Question 1: How long have you worked here?
    Dave: I’ve worked 3 years for Midway, and before that managed Ruby Tuesday here in Kearney for 8 years.  In all of that time I have met so many wonderful people from Kearney and all the surrounding areas.  My family and I are truly blessed.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    Dave: First it would have to be my amazing family, my wife, Marissa, and 3 daughters, Halli, McKennzie, and Addison – yes, all girls, but wouldn’t have it any other way.  Second, knowing that I have an opportunity every day to help our customers in the process of purchasing a new vehicle; especially the first time car buyers!  Nothing is better to see how excited they are when they get to buy their first vehicle on their own!

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Dave:
    GMC Sierra Denali

    Question 4: What makes Midway a great place to shop?
    Dave:
    The people who work for Midway is where it all begins.  It is our goal here to make sure the customer feels at home as soon as they walk through the door, and once they begin the process of finding the perfect vehicle, we want to make sure they are taken care of from that point, and  all the way through out their entire ownership experience.

    Question 5: What do you do in your free time?
    Dave:
    Spending time with the family, golf, and Husker football.

    Question 6: The Hassle-Free philosophy is great. How does that help you as a finance manager?
    Dave:
    Buying a vehicle is not always an easy process, the hassle-free philosophy just seems to put people a little more at ease. I am one of the last people a customer is going to talk to in order to finalize their purchase, and in the finance office we want to continue and complete the buying process to be a pleasant one.

    Question 7:  What do you like best about working at Midway?
    Dave: The people I work with are great! Most of all I enjoy meeting different faces everyday, and help them figure out their best situation for financing.

    Question 8: What is something most people don’t know about you?
    Dave:
    I am from South Sioux city, and that I was in the Army National Guard for 4 years.

    Kim: I started with Midway in 2003, almost 14 years ago! This was my first position in the automotive industry.

    Kim: A top notch sales staff and facility; we are a one stop place offering sales, parts, service and finance.

    Question 3: what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
    Kim: I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, time with my boyfriend, going to concerts and camping.

    Kim: I can focus on a customers wants & needs in their new vehicle and not have to focus on negotiating the price. I also have my own philosophy,
    “Treat everyone as if they were family coming into your own home.”
    This is my home away from home!

    Kim: My management team, Heath & Mitch! They’re great at what they do and keep me motivated!

    Brandon: I’ve worked at Midway for a little over 7 years. 

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    B: My wife and our baby that’s due in September! I can’t wait to start each day knowing we are one day closer to meeting our kid! 

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    B: 
    My favorite vehicle on the lot was the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Redline Edition. I’m a really big fan of that appearance package, and can’t wait to see what it looks like on other Chevrolet models as they roll in. 

    Question 4: What makes Midway a great place to shop?
    B: 
    We are literally a one stop shop for sales, parts, service, auto body repair, and general vehicle questions. It’s a huge relief for me knowing we can take care of all of our customers with our three locations within a couple blocks, rather than sending them clear across town!

    Question 5: What do you do in your free time?
    B: 
    I really like to go to the gym to keep up with my dad-bod physique! I also enjoy walks with my dog, and going to movies with my wife. I’m also gearing up for fantasy football season!

    Question 6: The Hassle-Free pricing philosophy is great. How does that help you as a sales consultant?
    B: 
    It’s a huge relief knowing the price of our vehicles up front, and knowing that I’m going to help a customer find the perfect vehicle, and make that vehicle affordable. Being non-commission takes a lot of pressure off of me, which helps take a lot of pressure off my customers. 

    Question 7: What do you drive?
    B: 
    I lease a 2015 Malibu, and plan to get a 2018 Redline Malibu once my lease is up!

    Question 8:  What do you like best about working at Midway?
    B: 
    The people I work with are amazing. Each person brings something great to the table. The customers I’ve met are also a huge perk. Seeing families grow and grow up has been mind blowing. It’s amazing what’s changed in 7 years with the people I’ve met! 

    Question 9: What makes Midway different from other dealerships in the area?
    B: 
    I believe everyone at Midway truly enjoys helping people. From major service/auto body repairs to new vehicle purchases, to simple things like putting new license plates on customer’s vehicles, everyone is always eager to get things done and make our customer’s day a little smoother.

    I’m a huge Lego nerd, and have multiple shelves full of legos!

    Question 1: How long have you worked here? How long in the automotive industry?
    Josh: I have been in the automotive industry for 3.5 years now – all of them spent with Midway.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    Josh: Pre-workout shakes and pumping iron. But seriously….the best part about this job is that there is something new everyday.

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Josh: That’s a tough call. There are so many vehicles on our lot that I love, it just kind of depends on the day. Right now, I will go with the Ram 1500 Longhorn Limited.

    Question 4: What makes Midway CDJR a great place to shop?
    Josh: We have a great lineup of brands. The culture is awesome. But it really comes down to the strong relationships we have with our valued customers.

    Question 5: What do you do in your free time?
    Josh: I am a big sports fan, so anything that involves playing or watching sports takes up a bunch of my free time. I also enjoy watching live theater. A coworker of mine hooked me on it.

    Question 6: The Hassle-Free philosophy is great. How does that help you as a sales consultant?
    Josh: It allows us to let our customers know that they are getting the best deal up front. We do not start off at a high price and play the back and forth game because most people do not enjoy the stress of the negotiating process. With the way we price our vehicles, you get the best price without the hassle.

    Question 7: What do you drive?
    Josh: I drive a black 2016 Chrysler 300…it kind of looks like the Batmobile, only cooler.

    Question 8: What do you like best about working at Midway CDJR?
    Josh: Kearney is a great community with fantastic people. So, it is always great to meet new people from the area everyday. The best part about working at Midway may be the people that I work with here. We have a great group of men and women here that are always willing to help each other out. It makes it fun coming to work everyday.

    Question 9: What makes Midway CDJR different from other dealerships in the area?
    Josh: There are many places to buy vehicles. I’d like to think that our specialty, other than hassle-free pricing, is truly striving for 100% customer satisfaction: before, during and after the sale. We care about the whole ownership experience.

    Michelle: I have worked here since October of 2014.

    Michelle: What fuels my day is my family, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them (and coffee!).

    Question 3: What do you drive?
    Michelle: I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, they are my favorite! It’s an amazing combination of luxury and capability!

    Michelle: Midway Chrysler is different than other dealerships because of the selection of vehicles we carry and we have the best sales staff in the business! Our sales managers truly care about people and want them to have the best experience! We want to earn your business and will do whatever we can to turn each and every customer into a loyal customer for life! The thing I like best about working at Midway CDJR is the people, my peers are amazing, the service staff is excellent and my management is the best. I could not do what I do without any of them.

    Michelle: In my free time I spend time with my family, watch as much football as I possibly can (Husker Football and Green Bay Football of course!) and spoil my pets who are the best furbabies ever!

    Michelle: The Hassle Free philosophy is great because it really creates a unique buying experience for the customer. I get to spend my entire day helping people get what they want, who doesn’t love that? It also helps me focus completely on the customer and their needs instead of some bottom line.

    Michelle: I love to go watch the ballet! My mom used to take me a lot when I was young and I still love it!

    Jeremiah: The “prestige” of working for the premier dealer in the Kearney area; I’ve also made some really good friends!

    Jeremiah: We take care of our customers by servicing and inspecting our vehicles before the sale. We treat our customers like family. Product Specialists are motivated by taking care of the customer, not the commission they’ll make as that is not how we are paid. I also think top-notch facilities matched by nobody else in the area set us apart. I genuinely feel as if we’ve helped the customer get into a better car with each sale.

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway and what do you do?

    Shane: I have worked at Midway since November of 2014, but have been around the auto industry my entire life. I have helped wash cars, do inventory and anything else that needed done since I was kid at Killion Motors which my family owned. I started working in the service department at Killion Motors in January 2007.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?

    Shane: I like being able to help people, whether it is a customer or an employee.
    Helping an employee past a road block and seeing them succeed makes me want to help more. On the customer side, I enjoy taking care of people not because they are our customers, but because they will become more than customer in the long run. I have many friends that started out as customers.

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?

    Shane: I like the looks of new ZR2 Colorado.

    Question 4: What do you do in your free time?

    Shane: I work outside, play with my boys, and go hunting and fishing.

    Question 5: What do you drive? or What’s your dream car?

    Shane: I’m still an old body still guy, I have a 2006 Chevy Duramax

    Question 6:  What do you like best about working at Midway?

    Shane: I like the family atmosphere, and knowing that no matter who the customer talks with that they will be taken care of.

    Question 7: What makes Midway GM Service different from other shops in the area?

    Shane: Midway GM service has some of the best techs around, there is a lot of knowledge in the shop, I would need a calculator to add up all the of the years of experience, there is not much that we can’t fix. Our Service Advisors are customer-orientated and will do anything to take care of a customer.

    It’s #MeetMidwayMonday! Today, we want to introduce you to Bruce Pickering, Parts Manager at Midway GM on South 2nd Avenue in Kearney.

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? What do you do?
    Bruce: On April 18th, I will have been with Midway for 4 years. When first I started here, I was hired as a Quick Lube Technician. I spent a year as a Lube Tech when a position in the Parts Department for a Inventory/Receiving Associate opened. I got the job then was later moved into Parts Advisor role where I worked with the Technicians looking up the parts they needed to get the jobs done. During this time, I also worked on the front counter selling accessories for new and used vehicles. I then was promoted to Assistant Parts Manager for about 6 months before recently being promoted to Parts Manager.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    Bruce: The thrill of never knowing what the day is going to hold – whether its going to be non-stop busy or slower so you have time to actually catch your breath.

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Bruce: Well I’m a car guy, I like them all! But if i have to pick, I would have to say the 2017 Chevy Camaro SS in Krypton Green.

    Question 4: What do you do in your free time?
    Bruce: I like to take my classic ’78 Malibu to car shows or just go for a drive. I also like to tinker with my vehicles detailing them keeping them looking good. I enjoy going fishing, and camping with family.

    Question 5: What makes Midway GM a great place to get your service work done?
    Bruce: The great team we have a Midway is fast, friendly, and courteous – and of course, the great new remodel!

    Question 6: What accessory do you think sets a vehicle apart from others?
    Bruce: My favorite accessory is the lighted bowtie for the new 2017 Silverado. Also, I’ve always thought that a good set of rims will set off any vehicle.

    Question 7: What is something most people don’t know about you?
    Bruce: I was born with cataracts and had implants put in my eyes when I was 30, but haven’t let it slow me down. Also, I’ve always wanted to work at a dealership.

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? What do you do?
    Kassie: I have been at Midway almost 5 months and work as a Service Advisor. I am the go-between for our Technicians and Customers when they drop off their vehicle for service work.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    Kassie: My two beautiful girls; everything I do is for them!

    Question 3: What do you drive?
    Kassie: Chevy Malibu

    Question 4: What do you do in your free time?
    Kassie: Spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors – anything that involves being at the lake – camping, boating, and all that fun stuff!

    Question 5: What makes Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram a great place to get your service work done?
    Kassie: Regardless if you are in to get your oil changed or have an engine replaced, we make sure your vehicle is taken care of. We have a great group of technicians who know their stuff!

    Kassie: The compassion that is shown for each and every customer and vehicle that comes in the shop is amazing! Knowing that I’m apart of a dedicated team makes it so much more than just a job!

    Meet Midway Monday: Joe Wheeler, Certified Technician

    It’s #MeetMidwayMonday and we want to introduce to you Joe Wheeler, a Certified Technician here at Midway GM on South 2nd Avenue in Kearney.

    Have you worked with Joe? Has he worked on your vehicle? We want to hear from you in the comments!

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? How long in the automotive industry?
    Joe: I have worked for Midway as an automotive technician since November of 2014 when Killions was purchased. Prior to that, I worked at Killion Motors for 15 years.

    Question 2: What fuels your day?
    Joe: While it can be frustrating at times, I enjoy the puzzle aspect of my job. Figuring out why a car isn’t operating the way it’s supposed to or looking through wiring diagrams to find how a circuit works.

    Question 3: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Joe: I have four kids so my eye is usually on the Acadias and Yukons, but the kid in me loves the Corvettes, they are so fun! I feel like I’m 16 again every time I get to drive one.

    Question 4: What do you do in your free time?
    Joe: As I said before I have 4 kids so I don’t have ANY free time. Seriously though, I love spending time with my wife and kids just playing games around the house. I also enjoy disc golf and I fish quite a bit in the summer.

    Question 5: What kind of training/schooling did you receive to get the job you currently have?
    I went to Southeast Community College in Milford and went through the General Motors Automotive Service Education Program GMASEP. I have attended many classes at GM training centers in the years since. also I have the ASE Master Technician Certification and have passed the tests for Advanced Engine Drivability and Light Duty Diesel offered by ASE.

    Question 6: What do you like best about working at Midway GM?
    There are many things I like about Midway, but what strikes me most is how as a whole from my Service Manager, to the General Manager, to the Owners, Midway
    appreciates it’s people and the job work we do.

    Question 7: What is something most people don’t know about you?
    I have played Frisbee in three different countries and on two continents! Also, I recently learned to play the ukulele. I’m not too consistent yet but I know five songs!

    Hometown: I grew up in Elm Creek, NE where my parents owned the grocery store.

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? What do you do?

    Mike: I’ve been with Midway since the Killion’s acquisition. Before that, I was with Killion Motors for almost 2 years. Prior to being with Killion’s, I was in the Kearney body shop business for 32 years. 

    Question 2: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?   

    Mike: The 2017 Cadillac Escalade – there’s just something about that Cadillac emblem on the front that sets it apart. 

    Question 3: What do you drive?

    Mike: 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500

    Question 4: What makes Midway Collision Center the best place for your repair needs?

    Mike: Our staff – I owe it all to our staff. I truly believe we have the best guys in town working for Midway. They are naturally talented when it comes to body work plus they have multiple years of experience. Between all of us, we have about 125 combined years. 

    Question 5: What do you like to do in your free time?

    Mike: I spend time raising my kids. I follow my son, Ross, around to his trap shoot meets. My daughter Thea loves to grow flowers, so we recently planted a flower bed for her at our home.

    Question 6: What makes Midway Collision Center different from other body shops in the area?

    Mike: For one, we have brand new courtesy vehicles for our customers to drive while their vehicle is being worked on. They can just take these new vehicles and go. We also work with all major insurance companies which make it easier on the customers during a sometimes stressful time.

    Lastly, our staff sets us apart from others. Each of my guys brings something they’re exceptionally go at to the table. Casey is great at dent repair; Bob is able to straighten a smashed vehicle panel so it looks as good as it did new; Trent used to work in a street rod type of shop, so he’s used to making these vehicles looks TV/Barrett Jackson level of perfect. 

    Question 8: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

    Mike: I like to build solid wood furniture in my free time. My favorite piece I’ve built was a Grandfather clock that I donated to Kearney Catholic GOLD.

    Question 1: How long have you worked at Midway? What do you do?
    Pat: I have worked for Midway Collision Center for 2 years as a Collision Service Advisor. I write estimates for customers to repair their automobiles after an accident, storm, or just maintaining their car from rust or gravel pits, ect.

    Question 2: What’s your favorite vehicle on the lot?
    Pat: GMC Yukon’s or Chevrolet Tahoe’s for family outings – room for the grandkids! I like a Monte Carlo as a pleasure car – classy!

    Question 3: What makes Midway Collision Center the best place for your repair needs?
    Pat: Courteous people working at Midway from the office help to management staff to technicians – knowledge of the auto industry by the entire staff.mcmeekin.jpg

    Question 4: What do you like to do in your free time?
    Pat: In my spare time, I enjoy my family and grandkids. I enjoy working on my yard, gardening, and cooking; I like to try different recipes.

    Question 5: What makes Midway Collision Center different from other body shops in the area?
    Pat: We take pride in our repair work we want the customer to leave happy with their automobile!

    Question 6: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
    Pat: I graduated Southeast Community College with a 2 year degree in Auto Body Repair and have been in the auto repair business for 45 years! I have been a technician, body shop manager, insurance adjustor for independent adjustors. Originally from Osceola, NE, my wife, Ginger, and I will be celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary in April. We lived in Columbus for 30 years raising our family – we have a son who is an electrician, and daughter who is a stay at home mom of 3 children. Then in Scottsbluff for 12 years. We eventually moved to Kearney to be closer to our family and grandkids. I enjoy working in the auto body repair business. I have met a lot of good people throughout the years!
